Occupational First Aid
Occupational First Aid courses are run a couple of times a year as numbers require. This is a 5-day course and the highest level of first aid training. It covers the responsibility of the first aider under OHS legislation. It is the recommended course for workplaces that have a First Aid room onsite. Suitable for individuals who are responsible for first aid delivery/coordination in the workplace, those requiring higher levels of training for the workplace and anyone else interested. Participants review, develop and expand their First Aid skills and knowledge. They also receive training in Triaging patients, Expanding assessment skills with taking Blood Pressures, Temperatures and Blood Glucose monitoring, as well as Emergency Asthma Management, Infection control, and Wound care, Emergency Child Birth, Oxygen Therapy and Automatic External Defibrillation, among other things. All of these components are consolidated with practical application and role-playing. Part of the assessment for this course is the successful completion of a scenario situation. Participants are required to have a currant Senior First Aid certificate prior to attending.
